His contributions…

🔸Dr. A. K. Singh was born in 1972, in a middle-class family in the Mithila region (mother language Maithili) of undivided North Bihar (Saharsa).

🔸While studying, he was a topper in high school and topped ISC Biology from TNB College Bhagalpur. He then enrolled to study medicine at National Medical College, Kolkata.

🔸The following Quote of Charak Samhita sparked an interest in him to pursue a career in medicine:

🔸He completed his MBBS course in 1995 with distinction in Pharmacology and Internal Medicine and also received the highest marks in Internal Medicine and topped Calcutta University.

🔸Then, he joined MD (Internal Medicine) at Nilratan Sircar Medical College, Kolkata in 1997 and topped the Calcutta University with distinction.

🔸Dr. A. K. Singh further completed his DM from IPGMER, Kolkata in Endocrinology in 2004.

🔸After his studies, he began his practising career at Ruby General Hospital, Kolkata and Sun Valley Hospital Diabetes Research Centre, Guwahati.

🔸In fact, he has a special interest in research. Some of his research interest topics are focused mainly on Meta-analysis of RCTs related to:

🔅Incretin based therapy

🔅SGLT2 inhibitors

🔅Cardiovascular outcomes

🔅Renal outcomes

🔅Diabetic Kidney disease

🔸Besides, Dr A. K Singh is a prolific writer of articles on diabetes and endocrinology. Over the years, he has Published more than 140 papers in peer-reviewed journals like Lancet, BMJ, Diabetes Care, Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism, Diabetes Research & Clinical Practice, Endocrine Practice, World Journal of Diabetes, Word Journal of Cardiology, Expert Opinion in Pharmacotherapy, Expert Reviews in Clinical Pharmacology, Expert Reviews in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical Research & Reviews, IJDDC, IJEM, JAPI, JIMA, etc.

🔸Moreover, during the Covid-19 pandemic, he published few research papers on Covid-19 and his landmark Pan-India Coronavirus Vaccine-induced Antibody Titre (COVAT) Study among Indian healthcare workers become one of the top cited papers in the world.

🔸Presently, he is serving as a Senior Consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetologist at GD Hospital and Diabetes Institute, Kolkata, West Bengal and in Sun Valley Hospital and Diabetes Research Center at Guwahati, Assam.

🔸Basically, he speaks many languages fluently including Maithili (mother tongue), Bhojpuri, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese and English.
